One of my favorite dishes as a kid was this one. My mom found it in a taste of home magazine years ago it has been a family favorite ever since. Growing up we always had to eat our veggies but this was one of our favorite ways to do so. We would always fight over the last little bit. This zesty salad goes well with most meals and is a great addition to the traditional veggies that are served during the Christmas or Thanksgiving holidays.
- 4 cups broccoli florets (I med bunch)
- 3/4 cup raisins
- 1 small red onion, chopped small
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 bacon strips - cooked and crumbled
Combine the chopped broccoli, raisins and onions in a small bowl.
Combine the mayo, vinegar, and sugar in a small bowl. Toss together with the broccoli to coat 2 hours before serving.
Top with crumbled bacon pieces.
Refrigerate until ready to eat!!
